ABOUT US

"At Save Our Needy, we believe every one has the right to dream."

Save Our Needy (SON) is a registered non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 2011 in West Africa. The organization has special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission (ECOSOC).

Save Our Needy develops innovative, cost-effective, evidence-based programs to solve social, economic, and political issues so that the most marginalized groups will thrive. The organization’s interventions have led to improved quality of life and transformational change for beneficiaries, having a ripple effect on their families and communities.

We deliver high-impact capacity-building projects which lead to the greatest economic and social impact for marginalized women and youths. We use innovative, proven, and effective methods including innovative communication methods (ICMs) to implement our projects.

We are focused on tackling issues and root causes rather than alleviating intermittent, temporary problems. We are contributing to building more inclusive societies in which human diversity is protected.

Save Our Needy works primarily in the areas of leadership development and economic empowerment for women and youths as well as collaborative projects aimed at ending violence against women and girls, and removing barriers to women's participation in the political space.

We invest in girls’ education and health as it is the best way for a country to unlock productivity and innovation; cut poverty, create opportunities and generate prosperity. We empower people and communities in situations of poverty, illiteracy, disease and social injustice. Our aim is not just to move towards a sustainable development, but also uplift local communities in the process.

Since inception, SON has worked collaboratively with both local and international organizations, agencies, governments, local authorities, community leaders and individuals to ensure that women and youths participate fully in the economic, social and political development of Africa.

SON uses an integrated model to change systems of inequity through social development programs and humanitarian response.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is simple: To avail marginalized women, youths, and children with the opportunities, high impact capacity building services and tools to attain sustainable human development.

OUR VISION is an Africa free from all forms of violence, exploitation, and discrimination where all women, youths, and children particularly girls have the opportunity to realize their potential.
